An overview of the new IRHS training structures

The CSI, CSB and CSSE training pathways.

  1. Practitioner training now begins with the first-year Certificate in Sexological Intimacy Coaching (CSI), which includes all the micro-skills and practices of sexological bodywork, guiding self-touch using Clean Language & Body Poem coaching, and a robust session structure for online client sessions.

  2. Certified Sexological Intimacy Coaches can continue to the second-year CSB training, which includes touch and the Eleven-day in-person embodiment retreat in the mountains in Portugal.

  3. Certified CSBs can then further develop as somatic sex educators and coaches in the CSSE 3rd year, where you will accompany 1st-year CSI students through their CSI training and continue in paid coaching roles during the supervised practicum certification stages, becoming a recognised coach in these modalities.

  4. After completing the third year, there is an opportunity to develop somatic sex educator leadership and supervision skills, becoming a professional supervisor who can supervise practitioners in the field. You will accompany 2nd-year CSB students through their CSB training and continue in paid coaching roles during the supervised practicum certification stages.

CSSE Training Opportunities

  1. You will have a unique opportunity to access the CSI training in this new format as you accompany our next cohort of CSI first-year students as a CSSE coach. You will follow the CSI training with your students, practising the core research explorations with your CSSE classmates and clients to update your micro skills and deepen your experience translating somatic practices online.

  2. You will also develop your coaching skills to support you in stepping into an up-power role as a coach for your students throughout their training, including a paid coaching role as they move into supervised client sessions towards certification.

  3. You will also be able to develop your specialism as a somatic sex educator in an area you feel passionate about and would like to contribute to the field.

  4. As part of our postgraduate program, you will create educational material and present it in a live webinar for the Postgraduate community to establish yourself in your area of special interest. You can promote courses or further training to support practitioners' personal and professional development.

November 2025 – January 2026: 

Your roles:

  1. Study the new Certification in Sexological Intimacy Skills curriculum and add these valuable tools to your practice. Engage with the core research explorations to gain experience in somatic assessment, session structure, Clean Language, and Body Poem coaching. You will also gain practice in facilitating repair and holding space for shame and trauma with phenomenological listening and radical acceptance. You will become skilled at translating Wheel of Consent and bodywork practices into online sessions with your CSSE classmates and clients. 

  2. Study specific active receiving coaching models and the core Right Use of Power practices for your role as a CSSE coach.

  3. Respond to your students’ research exploration.

  4. Attend the twice-monthly Wednesday webinars, contribute by leading ‘Engage’ pieces, and facilitate your pod group meetings.

  5. Meet with each student in your pod monthly for a 1:1 coaching call.

  6. Study the core principles of supervision and gain experience in a supervision chain where you both give and receive supervision with your CSSE classmates. 

Monthly 1-1 Supervision

You will receive a monthly 1:1 supervision session with Phoebe. This is an opportunity to learn what supervision can do for your personal and professional growth and to see some of the supervision tools in action.

 

Being in the Role of a Paid Coach

  • November 2025- January 2026 

You will be the paid CSI coach to your students as they begin their supervised client sessions towards certification. After they have completed five client sessions, you will arrange a coaching call with each student. Preparation for this call will include watching one recorded client session in each block of five. Coaching calls are one hour long, and the student is required to pay you directly (the fee is currently £60/coaching call).  

 

Develop & Present your Educational Material. 

You will be exploring your area of special interest and developing a piece of educational material, which you will be invited to present in the postgraduate monthly meeting, contributing your educational gifts of service to the collective as an influencer. Ideally, this will also be an introduction or promotion for further education opportunities and as a promotion for courses or training you offer.

 

Certification as an IRHS CSSE Coach

At: At the end of the CSSE 3rd year, you will be listed as a CSSE Coach and can provide coaching to past and future IRHS students. You will then have the opportunity to continue your professional development by joining the CSSE 4th year training to deepen your knowledge of supervision, offer supervision to practitioners, and further develop personally and professionally as a Somatic Sex Educator.

CERTIFICATE in SOMATIC SEX EDUCATION - Developing your skills and experience as a Supervisor stepping into leadership

You will have an opportunity to revisit the CSI or CSB material and deepen your knowledge. You will also develop your coaching, supervision, teaching, and leadership skills as you explore your professional identity as a Somatic Sex Educator.

Having already completed CSB training and gained experience working with clients, you have a unique 'super vision.' This vision will guide and encourage first-year students, and you will also learn coaching and supervision skills to support you in the role of a CSSE coach, a position of great responsibility and empowerment.

The CSSE curriculum supports personal and professional development and growth, weaving in teachings from the Right Use Of Power, In Love With Supervision, Co-Active Coaching, and The Art Of Somatic Coaching.

You will have opportunities to teach classes, lead group Erotic Embodiment practices, and develop your leadership educational material, with opportunities to present this in the IRHS postgraduate webinars and add your work to the IRHS postgraduate CPD resources.

You will explore coaching and supervision models and experience giving and receiving regular one-to-one supervision with your CSSE classmates to develop your skills. You will also supervise your students as they enter supervised practicum sessions with clients. This provides an excellent foundation in supervision skills and will enable you to provide much-needed peer mentorship and supervision for practitioners.

The Certificate in Somatic Sex Education

The enrollment fee £900 is required to secure your place on registration after we have accepted you onto the training at the interview.

Contributing to the Postgraduate Program:

As part of the Third and fourth-year training, students will develop as Somatic Sex Educators and create educational material, either a text or video webinar. Certified Somatic Sex Educators will then be able to present their webinar or written material in the monthly postgraduate teaching webinars. Their educational material will also be added to the school library, contributing to the resources available for CSB graduates to access free of charge and adding their presence to our growing community of Somatic Sex Educators.

C E R T I F I C A T I O N & I N S U R A N C E

Upon completion of all requirements, students will be awarded the Certificate of Somatic Sex Educator (CSSE).

Graduates from this professional training can become members of The Association of Certified Sexological Bodyworkers (ACSB), the Somatic Sex Educators’ Association of Australasia (SSEAA) and apply for membership and be admitted to the World Association of Sex Coaches (WASC) with no further requirements.

This course is recognised as offering training of sufficient depth for practitioners to be eligible for insurance for their work.
