Pathways to train as a Somatic Sex Educator & Supervisor
We are passionate about supervision and creating a bank of trained professional supervisors for our international Sexological Bodywork community and beyond.
The CSSE 3rd and 4th years provide an opportunity for great personal and professional growth as you learn to inhabit greater positions of leadership.
This training is open to CSIBs who have completed the CSI and CSIB 1st and 2nd years.
You may also apply if you were trained in previous years or at other schools, with the understanding that you will need to study the updated 1st and 2nd year curriculum in addition to the CSSE curriculum.
The CSSE training is for those of you who want to train as professional Supervisors and Somatic Sex Educators, as well as to deepen your Practitioner skills by revisiting the CSI and CSIB curricula and coaching 1st- and 2nd-year students.
You will become part of the first waves of Relational Harmony Institute-trained professional Supervisors.
So needed in the field of sexuality, with so many practitioners involved in unresolved ruptures and alone with these.
Your training in the Right Use of Power™, The RHI Session Structure™, Clean Language, The Wheel of Consent™, and Body Poem™ is essential for ethical integrity.
Having the skills to support edge-walkers, when so many practitioners work in isolation, is precious.
You will become a go-to supervisor for supporting power awareness and illuminating blind spots in ethical practice, enhancing practitioners' confidence in their ethical integrity, and giving practitioners a place where they know someone has got their back.
Ethics is a community responsibility, and each time we find our way back to belonging, integrity, and sovereignty, we also serve our collective practitioners in this field.
We are co-creating our profession in service to people seeking support in inhabiting new ways of being with their intimacy, confidence and erotic and creative self-expression.
For those who path it is to become influencers in leadership roles, we have developed the Certificate in Somatic Sex Education into a two-year program leading to certification as a Supervisor.
All our practitioners undergo a rigorous training, assessment, and certification process. We feel confident in recommending all of our Certified Somatic Intimacy Coaches & Bodyworkers to you. Part of certification to practice is participating in supervision. We developed this professional supervision training program to meet the CPD needs of our graduates.
The practitioner you are mentoring has all the answers within them.
Your bottom line is the same as with a client, limiting assumptions and trusting in the self-organising intelligence of another when offered the gift of radical acceptance through using Body Poems to illuminate ‘the unthought knowns’ in the practitioner.
IThe differences between Coaching and Supervision
Throughout the training, you will gain experience and fluency in each of these different placements of attention. Both Coaching and Supervision are required to support reflective practice. You will discover yourself dancing between the two, becoming fluent in your creative decision-making with what is being called for.
Sometimes, this might seem obvious, and other times obscure. You will learn when coaching micro-skills and relational supervision are required to facilitate your supervisee’s growth as a practitioner. You will learn and develop your coaching and supervision skills to support your transition into an up-power role as a coach, supervisor and image maker.
Your Third Year CSSE curriculum
The 3rd-year CSSE program is structured in parallel with the first-year Somatic Intimacy (CSI) program, which you revise through spiral learning while coaching and supervising CSI students.
The 4th-year CSSE program focuses on
developing your educational pieces for our profession
enhancing your (50 hours) supervision skills alongside the CSIB program
being part of the teacher team at the annual in-person Embodiment retreat, facilitating 1-1 coaching with the CSIB students
If you are entering our CSSE training program at the third-year level, having trained as a CSB in another school:
You can expect to dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to bring you up to date with our coaching model, the translation of touch practices for online sessions and our ethical updates of the CSB syllabus. Practitioners who have already completed the RHI CSI curriculum can envisage less time commitment as you will already be familiar with the curriculum, and you have a choice of which Research explorations you revisit for your learning
Your CSSE curriculum includes coaching and supervision skills and the Right Use of Power teachings to support your transition into an up-power role. You will apply these teachings as you coach and supervise your students. (You will receive payment for the student coaching calls during the Supervised practicum at £75 per call)

Your relationship with your supervisor will enhance your unique creativity as a professional Supervisor.
Supervising the recorded sessions
This is where the core of spiral learning in professional development occurs as you support your students inhabiting their practitioner roles. It is the most significant period of growth. You will be assessing the use of session structure as part of the REEF Coaching model, including Clean Language and Body Poem, the Facilitating Wheel of Consent relationship agreements, trauma first aid, and the 5-Step and 7 Step repair process.
You will be supervising and coaching your supervisees in the following areas of session structure:
Facilitating attunement, opening sensory receptivity, resourcing & arrival
Facilitating illuminating learning edges and translating these into somatic practices
Co-creating the learning intentions of each session, structured within the bigger picture that the client is envisioning
Facilitating somatic assessments
Facilitating embodiment practices & guiding the different modalities
Facilitating the client’s integration, harvesting reflections
Facilitating transitions in and out of integration time
Enabling feedback
Facilitating transitioning into endings
Co-creating relevant home practices
The relational aspects of Supervision in your learning journey as a supervisor.
We broadly define this as focusing on the relational aspects where learning edges arise that impact your navigation of emotional affect.
The relational aspects of supervision also involve your creative decision-making when radical acceptance with clean language and body poem is required and when wheel of consent relationship agreements for somatic practices are required in your client sessions.
Through this process, learning edges will be illuminated with insights with your core erotic themes at play as you transform pain points into your gifts of service with the aspects of being human you are in service to.
